Killington Ski Trip: Summit, NJ Departure

Per Tradition, we will ski in Killington, VT for our annual weekend on fun and fellowship on the slopes. This trip is open to beginner and experienced skiers/snowboarders who are in grades 9 - 12.

  • Wednesday, Feb 14 - Saturday, Feb 17 2024

    Wednesday, February 14: Travel Day

    2:00 PM: Meet at Oratory Prep for departure

    2:30 PM: Board the bus and depart for Killington, VT

    7:30 PM: Arrive in Killington, VT

    8:00 PM: Check-in at the accommodation

    8:30 PM: Catered dinner

    Thursday, February 15: Ski/Snowboard Day 1

    7:00 AM: Breakfast at the lodge

    8:30 AM: Head to Killington Ski Resort

    9:00 AM - 4:00 PM: Full day of skiing/snowboarding

    4:30 PM: Return to the lodge

    6:00 PM: Dinner @ iPie Pizzeria

    8:30 PM: Evening activities and free time at the lodge

    Friday, February 16: Ski/Snowboard Day 2

    7:00 AM: Breakfast at the lodge

    8:30 AM: Head to Killington Ski Resort

    9:00 AM - 4:00 PM: Full day of skiing/snowboarding

    4:30 PM: Return to the lodge

    6:00 PM: Dinner and Presentation at Franklin Events in Rutland.

    8:30 PM: Evening activities and free time at the lodge

    Saturday, February 17: Ski/Snowboard Day 3 and Departure Day

    7:00 AM: Breakfast at the lodge

    8:30 AM: Head to Killington Ski Resort

    9:00 AM - 4:00 PM: Full day of skiing/snowboarding

    4:30 PM: Depart for Oratory Prep

    10:00pm: Arrive at Oratory Prep

    Price Inclusions

    Welcome to the Oratory Prep Ski Trip to Killington, Vermont! We are thrilled to have you join us for this exciting adventure. To ensure you have a memorable and worry-free experience, here is a breakdown of what is included in the price of the trip:

    1. Transportation

    Round-Trip Transportation: Your trip includes transportation to and from Oratory Prep and Killington, Vermont. We will provide comfortable and safe transportation to ensure a smooth journey.

    2. Accommodation

    Lodging at Best Western, Rutland, VT: You will be staying at the conveniently located Best Western in Rutland, Vermont. The hotel offers comfortable rooms and amenities to make your stay enjoyable and relaxing.

    3. Ski Pass

    3-Day Ski Pass to Killington: Enjoy three days of skiing on the slopes of Killington, one of the premier ski resorts in the Northeast. The ski pass provides access to a wide range of trails and terrain suitable for all skill levels.

    4. Meals

    Dinner (3): You will be provided with three delicious dinners during your stay. Our culinary team will ensure that you have a variety of options to choose from, accommodating different dietary preferences.

    Breakfast (3): Start your days with a hearty breakfast. We'll provide a selection of breakfast options to give you the energy you need for your skiing adventures.

    5. Professional Photos and Videos

    Capture the Memories: We have arranged for professional photographers and videographers to document your ski trip. You'll receive high-quality photos and videos to remember this incredible experience.

    6. Chaperones

    Dedicated Chaperones: Your safety and well-being are our top priorities. We have experienced chaperones accompanying the group, including Mr. Roy and Mr. Morrissey, both of whom are familiar with our school trips and are dedicated to ensuring everyone has a great time.

    Professional Skier, Javier Spiegel: We are excited to announce that professional skier Javier Spiegel will be joining us on this trip. He will provide expert guidance and tips to help you improve your skiing skills and have an unforgettable time on the slopes.

    Please note that this list represents what is included in the trip price. Any personal expenses, equipment rentals, or additional activities beyond the mentioned inclusions will be at your own cost.

    Exclusions from the Price

    1. Lessons for Beginner Snowboarders/Skiers

    Lessons for Beginners: If you are a beginner skier or snowboarder and require lessons, please note that these are not included in the trip price. However, you have the option to purchase lessons in advance directly through Killington, Vermont. They offer professional instruction to help you get started or improve your skills on the slopes.

    2. Lunch and Snacks

    Lunch and Snacks: Lunch and snacks during the day are not included in the trip price. You will have the flexibility to purchase meals and snacks at various dining options available on the mountain. Killington offers a range of dining facilities to suit different preferences and dietary requirements.

    3. Ski and Snowboard Rental Gear

    Rental Gear: If you need ski or snowboard rental equipment, please be aware that it is not included in the trip package. You have a couple of options:

    Killington Resort: You can rent ski and snowboard gear directly from Killington Resort. It's advisable to reserve your equipment in advance through their rental services for a hassle-free experience.

    Local NJ Shop: Alternatively, you may choose to rent gear from a local shop in New Jersey, such as Summit Ski and Sport. Please make arrangements with the rental shop of your choice in advance.

    Cancellation Policy: This trip is based on group pricing therefore refunds CANNOT be issued. If you need to cancel, you may find another student to take your place.

    I. Clothing (Pack layers!)

    Thermals / Base Layers

    Snow Pants

    Snow Jacket

    Waterproof gloves

    Athletic / Wool socks / Ski socks

    Beanies / Warm hat / Buff or Balaclava

    Loungewear for the hotel

    II. Ski Equipment (In addition to skis, boots, boards, etc.)

    Googles (MUST BE WORN)

    Helmet (MUST BE WORN)

    *Rentals include boots and board/skies and/or ski poles. Rent in advance at a local outfit like Summit Ski and Sport. You may also rent at the resort, but forms and payment must be done in advance!

    III. Food + Water

    Water bottle(s) or a camelback for the slopes

    Electrolytes / Gatorade Mix

    Chips, bars, etc.

    Lunch is not provided so you can either purchase lunch on the slopes, or you can pack in advance of the trip.

    IV. Toiletries + Medications

    Toothbrush / paste

    Soap / Deodorant

    Lip Balm for chapped lips

    Any medications – please communicate medication needs with chaperones when we depart campus.
