Oratory Ski Trip


Join us for three days of skiing, snowboarding, and fellowship on Gore Mountain, New York. This trip is open to 40 high school students (9th - 12th graders) from Oratory Prep. Experienced AND new skiers and snowboarders are welcome.

This trip is first come, first serve. Please note details below:

    • Day 1: Depart Oratory at 12pm via bus with teachers and chaperones. Arrive at the Comfort Inn (Lake George, NY) by 6pm. Dinner and team bonding at 7pm. Lights out by 10:30pm.

    • Day 2: Ski or snowboard at Gore Mountain from 8am - 4pm (all day). Dinner and team bonding at 5:30pm. Lights out by 10:30pm.

    • Day 3: Ski or snowboard at Gore Mountain from 8am - 4pm (all day). Depart the resort by 5pm for a return to Oratory Prep. Arrive at Oratory Prep by 11pm.

  • LIMITED TIME DEAL: 10% OFF until October 1st

    The trip will cost $983.33 per student (based on 40 participants) and includes the following:

    • Round Trip for Motorcoach Transportation

    • 2 Day Lift Tickets to Gore Mountain

    • Lodging at the Comfort Inn, Lake George, NY

    • 2 Breakfasts at the hotel

    • 2 Dinners at the hotel: catered by local vendors. Allergies and food restrictions will be accounted for.

    • 3 Teachers / Chaperones including Mr. Greg Morrissey (founder of Mountain Goat Movement and Arc’teryx ambassador) and Mr. Tim Roy (counselor at Oratory)

    • Apparel from Mountain Goat Movement

    • Professional Photography and Video from Scott Martin

    Items below are EXCLUDED from the price:

    • Personal snacks / drinks on the bus or in the hotel room

    • Lunches (these can be purchased separately on the mountain, or students may bring food from home for the mountain).

    • Ski / Snowboard Rentals. Rentals can be purchased at Gore Mountain, or you can acquire your rentals in advance through a shop like Summit Ski and Sport. Research rentals in advance!

    • Any additional ski / snowboarding lessons beyond a tutorial for beginners on Thursday morning.

    ** Payment is not refundable as pricing is based on group needs. If a student needs to cancel his trip, then he may find another student to replace his paid spot. **

  • Suggested Packing List:

    Clothing (Pack layers!)

    • Thermals / Base Layers

    • Sweatshirt(s)

    • Snow Pants

    • Snow Jacket

    • Waterproof gloves

    • Athletic / Wool socks / Ski socks

    • Beanies / Warm hat / Buff or Balaclava

    • Loungewear for the hotel

    Ski Equipment (In addition to skis, boots, boards, etc.) *

    • Googles (MUST BE WORN)

    • Helmet (MUST BE WORN)

    Food + Water

    • Water bottle(s) or a camelback for the slopes

    • Electrolytes / Gatorade Mix

    • Chips, bars, etc.

    • Lunch is not provided so you can either purchase lunch on the slopes, or you can pack in advance of the trip.

    Toiletries + Medications **

    • Toothbrush / paste

    • Soap / Deodorant

    • Lip Balm for chapped lips

    *Rentals include boots and board/skies and/or ski poles. Rent in advance at a local outfit like Summit Ski and Sport. You may also rent at the resort, but forms and payment must be done in advance!

    **Any medications – please communicate medication needs with chaperones when we depart campus.

  • Students are responsible for their own rentals. They MUST be purchased in advance. Skis/snowboards can either be rented locally, or online through Gore Mountain. To learn more about rentals at Gore Mountain, click here.
