Objective: Adirondack Park is the largest protected park in the lower 48. The 46 High Peaks consist of mountains that are 4,000 feet or higher. During this weekend, students will attempt to summit 2 High Peaks (Big Slide and Giant Mountain) over the course of Saturday and Sunday while learning about the biodiversity and mountainous landscapes of the largest wilderness that the Northeast has to offer. Students should be relatively fit, and expect to be moving for the bulk of the weekend. Please note that students have off from school on Monday, October 11 for Columbus Day -- a good rest day!
